Diesel vehicle emissions are an important factor in air pollution. On January 4 this year, 11 departments including the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Transport jointly issued the Action Plan for the Pollution Prevention of Diesel Trucks ("Action Plan") to jointly clean diesel vehicles, clean diesel engines, clean transportation, and clean oil. Product action. The four major operations are interlocking, involving oil, roads and vehicles. The battle for pollution control of diesel trucks has started.
From 2013, “Atmosphere Ten” proposed to eliminate yellow-label vehicles and old cars. By 2018, the government work report proposed “to carry out special treatment of diesel trucks exceeding the standard”, and then to the first meeting of the Central Finance and Economic Committee in April 2018 "Developing the pollution control of diesel trucks", "Drug truck pollution control" frequently appeared in the top-level design, and was identified by the Party Central Committee as one of the seven landmark campaigns to fight the battle against pollution, which shows its importance.
The recent release of the "Action Plan" shows the country's determination to control the pollution of diesel trucks. However, at present, the emission standards of diesel vehicles in China are mainly concentrated in the plain areas. The ecological environment in the plateau areas is fragile. Under low-pressure and anoxic environments, the phenomenon of non-compliance of motor vehicles is more serious.
China has a vast mountainous and plateau area. The high altitude, low air pressure and low oxygen content in the plateau are lower than those in the plain area, resulting in incomplete combustion of heavy-duty diesel vehicles on plateaus and mountains, and a significant increase in emissions. After the qualified vehicles in the plain area are filled with qualified oil products, driving to the plateau area, due to insufficient oxygen intake, the phenomenon of emission non-compliance is prone to occur, making it difficult to control and supervise the emission of high-altitude mountain diesel vehicles.
How to deal with the pollution control of diesel trucks in China's highland areas?
Recently, China Automotive Research and Inspection Center issued a report on the comprehensive performance comparison of heavy-duty diesel vehicles for different oil products in the plateau environment. In Yunnan Province, the use of different types of oil products in heavy-duty trucks was carried out in the plateau area. The road PEMS test compares and analyzes the emission effect, power performance and fuel economy of the vehicle using the national diesel and biodiesel, and obtains the influence of the fossil fuel added with biodiesel on the fuel consumption, power and emissions of heavy vehicles under high altitude conditions.
The test results show that the overall economic and dynamic characteristics of the B5 and B10 biodiesel compared with the national six diesel fuels are not changed. Under the full working conditions, the PN, CO and THC of the vehicles are reduced, while the NOx emissions are reduced. Basically, it is not much different from the national diesel. Under low and medium speed conditions, the reduction of PN and CO is more obvious. The use of B5 and B10 biodiesel oils does not affect the technical economy of vehicles. B5, especially B10 biodiesel, has significant environmental benefits.
It is understood that the test is based on HJ857-2017 "On-board measurement methods and technical elements of exhaust pollutants for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and gas-fuel vehicles"; JT/T 719-2016 "Limits and Measurement Methods for Fuel Consumption of Operating Trucks", The test oils are National Six diesel, B5 biodiesel (mixed national six diesel), and B10 biodiesel (mixed national six diesel).
The test found that in the middle and low speed conditions, compared with the national six diesel, the vehicle uses B5 biodiesel, the particulate emissions decreased by 10.26%, the nitrogen dioxide emissions decreased by 6.25%, the carbon monoxide emissions decreased by 35.7%; the vehicle used B10 biodiesel, The particulate emissions decreased by 33.88%, the nitrogen dioxide emissions decreased by 5.21%, and the carbon monoxide emissions decreased by 67.64%.
The test results have positive significance for the promotion of biodiesel in China's plateau areas. Because of the low pressure and lack of oxygen in the plateau, biodiesel is rich in oxygen, which is conducive to its full combustion, thus contributing to the reduction of diesel vehicles.
Shen Yinggang, executive vice president and professor of the Aviation College of Kunming University of Science and Technology, who has long been engaged in the teaching and research of automotive engines, is also a participant in this experiment. He also believes that biodiesel is an oxygen-containing fuel. The promotion of B5 diesel and B10 diesel in China's highland areas is a harmful mechanism for adjusting the structure of a single petrochemical fuel and improving the low atmospheric pressure and oxygen content of diesel engines in the plateau. The increase in emissions is very beneficial.
Judging from the past actual situation, the emission of diesel vehicles in the plateau region is widespread and very serious. Drivers of large transport vehicles in Yunnan and Guizhou generally reported that the power is insufficient and the acceleration is slow. Local residents are also very vocal about black smoke when climbing vehicles.
Dong Zhanfeng, deputy director of the Environmental Policy Department of the Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that the plateau region is generally ecologically fragile and has low environmental carrying capacity. The same degree of pollution has a greater impact on the plateau than the plain. From this perspective, the pollution reduction benefits are significant. The promotion and application of oil products in the plateau is very important.
The application of B5 and B10 biodiesel in diesel trucks in the plateau region has a certain effect on reducing particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions, and has great potential in China. It can not only solve the problem of returning the oil to the table, but also solve environmental protection and ethics.
Shanghai's successful experience can be used for reference
As early as the end of October 2017, two Sinopec gas stations in Shanghai Fengxian District and Pudong New Area began to sell B5 biodiesel as a pilot. From the market reaction, B5 biodiesel sales are in good condition. By the end of December 2018, the number of B5 biodiesel supply outlets exceeded 200, and social vehicles had “drinked” 110 million liters (about 80,000 tons) of B5 biodiesel.
The success of the Shanghai model lies in the establishment of a closed-loop management system for “receiving, transporting, transporting, regulating, and using” discarded oils from kitchens and kitchens, turning waste into treasure and making biodiesel. Sinopec gas station added B5 biodiesel made of “ditch oil”, which opened the “last mile” of the bio-diesel produced by the kitchen waste oil into the finished product terminal. This can be a good demonstration for both the plateau and the country, and actively promote biodiesel.
At present, China's biodiesel production technology is mature and product quality is stable. Especially in the plateau area, we can adopt a step-by-step approach, first to make a closed demonstration zone, to implement a closed operation of the whole industry chain from raw materials, processing, production and sales, and to transform the local kitchen waste oil on the spot.
From the international point of view, many countries are closed to biodiesel. From the results of the biodiesel truck plateau operation test, the addition of B5 and B10 biodiesel to diesel freight vehicles in China's plateau region has its positive significance and will inevitably become a diesel truck pollution.
